Via Trading needed far more than a catalog. Resellers buy overstock and customer returns at wholesale — by the case, pallet or even the truckload — which means a large, fast-moving inventory, trade-buyer accounts, and pricing that works for serious B2B purchasing. An off-the-shelf cart simply doesn’t bend that far.
The approach
How we built it
We built a custom marketplace on PHP & MySQL so every rule could be modelled exactly: how products are listed, how quantities and units work, how buyers register and price. Owning the whole stack meant the catalog, accounts and checkout actually fit together instead of being bolted on.
